Stop Using Animals For Toxic, VaccinesTest-Medical,Research Institutes Told

As the world continues to witness the atrocities being committed against Animals by Medical laboratories ,Scientific and Research Institutions in decades ,a retired veterinary doctor ,Mr. Peter Okolofo has called on laboratories in Nigeria to stop using animals as test for toxic substances and  vaccines .

 

Dr . Okolofo was speaking on Tuesday against the backdrop of alleged use of ducks and dogs to test on vaccines and medicines by some research institutes in Nigeria .

 

He said in as much as the life of human being is important ,the life of non humans should be seen as that too, because they were all created by God to serve some purposes .

The Veterinarian turned clergy stated  it is high time the technology should begin to evolve to pave way for new way of testing the effectiveness of newly manufactured drugs and vaccines instead of using the animals .

 

He condemned the scientists for the continued using of animals for safety testing chemicals in factories ,calling on the federal government to step up action to safe the animals from the cruelty.

 

He recalled how thousands of ducks were killed in the cause of trying to uncover toxic substances in Zamfara state, Northern Nigeria in 2010 following the out break of lead poisoning in the state .

He equally  noted that human mistakes must not cost animals their lives ,adding that measures should be put in place to safe the lives of non humans in every environment in Nigeria .
