In its bid to educate the public about illegal wildlife trade and other conservative issues, Wild Africa Fund has launched a wildlife TV series in collaboration with several radio and Television Channels in Nigeria.
Wildlife are entities regarded as not worthy of care, especially their well-being by society, even though they are part of the creation.
However, if humans can be treated with kindness and respect, why do we choose to ignore non-humans, who also deserve moral concerns as living things
People are happily practising direct cruelty and violence on wildlife.
If we can do away with all forms of bigotries like extreme racism, slavery, sexism and other moral problems in the past, what stops us from putting an end to cruelty to animals
Animal cruelty is a moral problem of our time and we must try to solve it.
It may sound funny to hear this, but slavery and other moral problems in the past were practised by the highly placed in society because it was seen as the norm in the past.
Many organisations have taken the bull by the horns to fight for animal rights and welfare.
The first of its kind in Nigeria is the Wild Africa Fund.
Wild Africa Fund, a vibrant new non-profit founded by Peter and Corie Knight is offering a free to air documentaries, short films, videos, animations and public service announcements on Television, and radio to reach out to a large audience in a bid to change attitudes and perceptions about wild animals in the society.
According to the founders, they aimed to be the leading wildlife and environmental Communicator in Africa.
They are educating, informing and driving awareness with the programmes on most Radio, Television and Social media channels in Nigeria to support Africa’s natural heritage.
